We wanted to mark the anniversary of the historic Creeps & Weirdos Apestorm in a very special way.
An airdrop, you say? Nah. This is much better.
In celebration of the Apestorm of 2021, DADA is adopting close to 300 real apes through Ape Action Africa in Cameroon.
Not bored apes, not rugged apes, not trader apes, not flipper apes, not hodler apes, not collector apes, but bonafide, majestic, rescued African apes.
What could be more fitting than to show our appreciation for the windfall we got that day by adopting about 300 endangered apes?
But this is not one gesture and then we walk off into the sunset. We intend to build a relationship with Ape Action Africa and continue collaborating with them and similar conservation organizations as well as climate change initiatives through the Invisible Economy.
Several DADA artists like Serste in Italy, Marko Zubak in Croatia, Simon Wairiuko in Kenya, and Sparrow Read in England are already making efforts in carbon sequestration through reforestation and permaculture by implementing regrò, a program of regenerative farming that calculates the carbon impact of DADA’s energy consumption and converts it into reforestation and other actions to mitigate climate change.
Back to the apes: we had a lovely party on the Historic DADA Collections Discord to celebrate the anniversary of the Apestorm and had a Drink and Draw live drawing of a special visual conversation on DADA featuring many beloved DADA artists. We reminisced and drew to the sounds of music and guests went home with a POAP.
Thanks to all our friends and collectors who came, and to the DADA artists who participated in the Drink and Draw.
Good apes are always welcome in our community. 🦍 🦧 🐒
