October 28–30, Barcelona.
DADA is proud to host the First Historic NFT Fest, bringing together the creators, innovators, and thinkers who have contributed to the crypto art and NFT space since its beginnings, up to 2019.
We believe it is important to turn our attention to the history of NFTs, to acknowledge the creators and innovators who have built our community, and to understand how the past informs our present and inspires future innovation.
This will not be a conventional NFT conference. The festival will feature an intimate series of conversations about the value, historical significance, and technical, cultural, and artistic contributions of early NFTs with the instigators that made it all happen. The festival will include a retrospective exhibition, workshops, and special activities.
The festival takes place October 28–30 at the Reial Cercle Artistic in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, an arts club and historic landmark that has welcomed artists like Dalí, Miró and Picasso.
But we don’t have to wait until then to get things started. This month, curator Eleonora Brizi will be conducting a series of conversations on the HNFT Fest Twitter Spaces with a group of experts in the field who will discuss the history of NFTs from different perspectives. These public conversations will make deliberations transparent and contribute to the creation of a timeline of Historic NFTs and a retrospective exhibition that aims to make visible the people and the stories behind the innovations.
Whether you join us in person or virtually, we hope you will enjoy learning about the origins of this important development in the history of art, creativity and innovation.
