The world is finally catching up.
You may have heard of the NFT craze that is taking the world by storm.
One NFT sold at Christie’s for $70 million, a Cryptopunk sold for $8 million,
and now everybody wants in.
DADA is a pioneer in the field of crypto art and NFTs, having launched the first collection ever of tokenized art made by artists on Ethereum back in 2017, right after the Cryptopunks and before the Cryptokitties. We precede all of the current crypto art platforms.
System Model Session 11
Last week we had a very special guest and a super fun conversation with the irrepressible Austin Griffith, who is responsible for the lovely Nifty Ink platform, which helps onboard people to crypto easily and affordably through xDAI. It reminds us of us in the best possible way. You’re gonna love this:

Crypto Art Session 11
We are so very fortunate to have in Isa Kost a DADA artist who also loves to visualize data. So she conducted an experiment with the help of some DADA artists who shared info with her to turn some of this DADA data into art. DADA data includes intangibles like feelings. Take a look at her process and at the infinite possibilities of making art out of data:
Session 14
Where we discuss how to build a community that doesn’t depend on traditional business models but that doesn’t depend on donations either because donations in their own way can be damaging as profit models and even gift economies are tricky, as they can get really toxic. So we have to be really mindful and see where are the top 6 dynamics, and why they happen. Watch:

With a very special guest.
For our weekly System Model working group we had a wonderful conversation about collecting, and how the Invisible Economy will work for artists and collectors. Watch:
Mekyle: I mean if you aren’t popular in high-school and you finally get attention on social media. I’d probably be the same.
Judy: Haha, that is the key: a nerd revolt.
Sebnem: Can you share the link?
Sam: https://async.art/art/master/0xb6dae651468e9593e4581705a09c10a76ac1e0c8-245
Judy: Thanks, Sam.
Mekyle: I’ll remember you, if you’re good enough I’ll build a shrine.
Judy: We’re going to have to build a shrine to Mekyle.
Mekyle: ❤

Session 10: Virtual Worlds
We spoke about the pros and cons of virtual art worlds with Melody Owen, who is kindly lending WOCA and DADA virtual gallery space, for all the right reasons. Watch:
Karen Eng: It’s super interesting to get your impressions of the various worlds, thank you. I have similar feelings about Decentraland vs Crytpovoxels.
Yes, it feels commercial which puts me off somewhat.
Marko: Totally same feeling. I don’t even go to DCL if I can avoid :)
Ser Ste: uh I know occupy white walls… nice stuff
Judy: https://www.oww.io/
Ser Ste: aaawww, so nice!

Session 9
In which we explore an invisible token, a system run by gifts, and the ineffable Mariachi Effect. Find out more:
Ilan: Isaaaaaaaaaaa!
Isa: ❤️
Ilan: Love your avatar, Meykle.
*giggle*
Mekyle: Thanks, I think it describes me well.
Ilan: :)))
Mekyle: yea gas is lame.
Judy: That’s right, Sparrow.
Mekyle: They send a red packet. What do you think about a red packet like system?
Judy: What’s a red packet?
Mekyle: It’s what the Chinese use to gift each other on WeChat. It’s given on special occasions and contains money. …
Session 12
In which Josh explains some modeling ideas he can apply to DADA and we explore a way to have money come into DADA in a way which rewards the contributors as they contribute, in accordance with the principles of the DADA effect.
See you next time!
